Bankruptcy involves legal work in various areas such as property law, secured transactions, tax, estates, civil litigation as well as state and Federal statutory law. I was appointed as a Chapter 7 Trustee in 1985 which interested me in representing individuals and business filing for bankruptcy in my own practice. I started handling creditor cases representing business and lenders. He swam as a member of The UT 1978 National Championship team. Newtons association with the slave trade began. What is not so commonly known is that he left the slave trade more than thirty years before The Committee for the Abolition of the Slave Trade was formed. The fact that he was once a slave trader is well known today. Newton is a former All-American and Letterman as a swimmer with the University of Tennessee. John Newton was born in Wapping in 1725 to a seafaring father and a godly mother. Originally from the state of Michigan, Mr. He has lectured to various professional groups on collections and bankruptcy issues. He is certified by the American Bankruptcy Institute as a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist. degree in Finance, as well as his law degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Newton is admitted to the Federal Court and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. John has been licensed in Tennessee since 1984 and has filed thousands of consumer bankruptcy cases as well as been a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Panel Trustee for the Eastern District of Tennessee since 1985.
